Chelsea’s Choice a great way to raise awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation

So the Chelsea’s Tour 2016 finished last Friday,  myself and Cheryl Carter (PCSO for the City) have been involved in the  rolling out of  this production  over a 3 week period.  We organised a total of 33 performances to be shown in Schools and Community venues in South Cambs and Cambs City.   I have just been working on the stats for South Cambs   A total of 2,673 people saw the performance.   We still await the City stats.  Chelsea’s Choice  is a hard hitting theatre play raising  awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation.  The make  up of these people were:-

2,384 students in year 9 – together with some year 10 groups.
154 teachers
43 Professionals – including Social Workers, Youth Workers, Council Workers, Nurses and others.
16 Members of Cambs Police
55 Parents
21 Young people not attending a school setting.

The performances were greatly received by the schools and people attending the local community events.

National CSE awareness  day is  tomorrow –  18th March 2016

Come see the theatre production of Chelsea’s Choice in Sawston

 
Dear Community

I invite you to book a place on the  free showing of the Theatre Production “Chelsea’s Choice” this Thursday the 3rd March 2016 at The Marven Centre, New Road, Sawston, Cambridge at 7 p.m.

Chelsea’s Choice is a play which tells the  true story of a young girl who is a victim of Child Sexual Exploitation. The play lasts for 40 minutes and is followed by a 30 minute actor led discussion, exploring the themes in the play which include:- Grooming, Internet safety, Healthy Relationships, Substance use, Identifying risky situation and Sexual Exploitation.

The Theatre Production of Chelsea’s Choice  has toured nationally and been commissioned by 24 Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCB), including the Cambridgeshire LSCB.  If you want to know more about Chelsea’s Choice and the  Theatre Company performing it, please see alteregocreativesolutions.co.uk

This event will also include 2 talks, one from Gill Hanby the Area Partnership Manager who has been working with myself to set up performances across the whole of South Cambs and City.  The other talk will be from Chief Inspector James Sutherland. This is an ideal way to find out more about Child Sexual Exploitation and raise your awareness.   CSE does happen in our County.
